FDA Urges Caution Over Antidepressant Use

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (news - web sites) on Monday urged doctors, parents and others to closely monitor patients -- including children and teenagers -- who are taking antidepressants. The FDA, which is studying whether antidepressants can increase the risk of suicidal behavior, also asked manufacturers to change the labels of 10 drugs to include stronger warnings about patient monitoring, the agency said in a statement.
